Fiorentina were impressive on Thursday night as they progressed into the semi-finals of the Europa League after beating Dynamo Kieve 2-0 on the night, 3-1 on aggregate.
In his post-match interview, defender Marcos Alonso praised the club’s hierarchy for the role they have played in the recent success of the team.
The 24-year-old who has been at the club since 2013 was keen to speak about those at the very top of the football club, as Fiorentina go looking for their first piece of silverware since the Della Valle brothers came in.
“Tonight we played a great game,” said Alonso when speaking to Firenzeviola.it.
“The hierarchy at the club deserves this success because they have always stuck by us even in the difficult times.”
“Each of the opponents that remain in the competition are very strong. We will just have to see who will receive in the draw.
“As for Joaquin, he is a real bullfighter.”
