Following Saturday’s 4-2 win at Rayo Vallecano, Real Sociedad boss David Moyes has admitted that his side ‘must improve a lot for next season.’
On the final day of the La Liga season, La Real recorded only their 2nd win on the road for the season. Despite Rayo pegging the game back at one stage to 2-2, Sociedad came out on top. The Scottish international boss warned his side that their form away from home could damage their hopes of European football in the future.
“Against Rayo we played well and created chances, so I’m very happy,” said the ex-Manchester United boss after the game.
“I’m now looking forward to next season, but we must win more away games if we want to be competitive.
“Teams always finish where they deserve to. Looking at the table, we’re where we deserve and don’t deserve to finish higher.
“We know that we must improve a lot for next season.
“We have to win more away games. We beat a team who have had a good season and scored four goals against them, but we could’ve scored more.”
Real Sociedad finished the season in 12th, three points behind their final day opponnents, Rayo Vallecano.
Moyes’ men finished 48 points behind champions Barcelona.
