Barcelona are closing in on a deal that would take Paul Pogba to the Nou Camp from Juventus, beating Manchester City for the Frenchman’s signature, according to the Mail on Sunday.
Several of the European’s elite clubs have been linked with a move for the former Manchester United midfielder, but Rob Draper, Mail on Sunday’s Chief Correspondent understands that the Catalans are the closing in on a deal for the highly rated 22-year-old.
Pogba was part of the Juventus side who fell at the final hurdle of the Champions League, as they lost to Barcelona in Berlin 3-1, thanks to goals from Pogba’s possible new team-mates, Ivan Rakitic, Luis Suarez and Neymar.
For the side from Turin last season, Pogba featured 36 times in all competitions. Along the way, he bagged himself 10 goals and 6 assists. He only picked up eight cautions and never saw a red card throughout the campaign.
Recent suggestions have been that Juventus won’t let Pogba go on a cheap, and are currently asking for around €70m.
