Serie A champions Juventus have identified Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan as a potential transfer target, before the window closes.
Following the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer, the 24-year-old has been linked with the exit door, with both Manchester United and Juventus linked with the German midfielder.
TuttoMercatoWeb have reported that Juve are tracking the German maestro, as they seek cover for Sami Khedira, who has picked up an injury.
Earlier in the summer, the Old Lady had to watch both Andrea Pirlo and Arturo Vidal depart from their midfield and join New York Red Bulls and Bayern Munich respectively. In came Khedira from Madrid to boost the midfield numbers next to the highly-rated Paul Pogba, but with the ex-Madrid man now injured, numbers are needed.
However, Gundogan is another name that is constantly struck with injury problems, which have affected his game. Last season, the former FC Nurnberg man only made 23 appearances in the Bundesliga. A back injury also ruled Gundogan out of Germany’s successful World Cup win.
